Dr A Somasundaram is a specialist in Child Development and Behavior who has completed his Post graduate diploma in Developmental Neurology from Child Development Centre, University of Kerala and is currently undergoing his Diploma in Pediatric Neurodisabilty from Sheffield University, United Kingdom.
He is working in the field of child development for the past 10 years and has vast experience in planning and executing intervention programs for kids with Autism, ADHD, Learning disability, Cerebral Palsy etc. He is the co-founder and chief Mentor of D’Soul Child Development Centre, Chennai and the interdisciplinary team of therapists under him strive towards outcome oriented customized therapy plans.
He has clinical attachment with Kanchi Kamakoti Childs trust Hospital, Prashanth Superspeciality hospital and Apollo specialty hospitals, Chennai.
He is a preferred speaker in State, National and International Pediatric and Child Development conferences. He has authored few books and have few publications in his name.
He has served in various positions in the Indian Academy of Pediatrics [IAP] including Secretary, IAP Tamilnadu state and Executive board member, National IAP. He has few awards to his credit including the Dr Jeyaraj Ayanda oration award,Bharat Jothi Award and the Fellowship award of National IAP [FIAP].
He has sheer academic interest and is currently the National convener of the IAP fellowship course on Neurodevelopmental Pediatrics and also the accreditation committee member. He believes that early intervention does miracles and does lot of programs for pediatricians, parents and school teachers to create awareness on early identification and immediate referral of children with developmental problems.
